If your special once-in-a-lifetime day includes guests with children, then it would be nice to organize your wedding accordingly. Contrary to popular belief, planning a kid-friendly wedding isn't as complicated as it might seem at first. All you need is to learn how to make your big day fun for the youngest guests, which is why this guide is precisely what you need! Additionally, hiring an experienced wedding planner can be of great help.

1 - Choose a suitable wedding location

Since children will be among your guests, choose a spacious wedding venue where you can set up a kids-only area. If your wedding takes place indoors, ask if it's possible to have a separate room just for children. A separate kids' table will do just fine for an outdoor wedding. However, keep in mind that some kids may prefer to stay with their parents. Furthermore, ensure the kids aren't seated too far from adults.

2 - Keep children entertained

Keep in mind that kids get bored very easily and nervous because of it. First, go through the wedding guest list with your future spouse and see how many kids will be present at the wedding. Next, look up nearby child entertainers and discuss whether to hire one or two people to keep the youngsters engaged. Also, take props for a treasure hunt and other games.

The favorite game kids love to play at weddings is hide-and-seek. Therefore, make sure to notify an entertainer about this and ask them to monitor the kids. Discuss the hiding spots so an entertainer can set clear rules before kids begin to hide around.

3 - Hire a nanny

When the nanny watches over and entertains the kids, keeping them in check is easier. That way, parents can have some fun too, without chasing their kids across the venue. This is especially important if you are about to have a big wedding with hundreds of attendees.

4 - Discuss the menu with kids’ parents

Kids love sweet and caloric foods. That being said, avoid putting garnished sophisticated dishes and desserts on their plates. Instead, opt for their favorite foods and chocolate desserts. It's wise to speak with their parents about this. Also, make sure the kids aren't allergic to specific foods or spices before making the final menu.

Don't forget to include big plates with lots of fruit so kids can share them among themselves. This is an excellent way for them to bond with each other before they start playing.

5 - Make gifts for little guests

Buy inexpensive baggies and fill them with candies and small toys. Children love gifts, so make sure the baggies with their names on them await on their table. However, when planning a kid-friendly wedding, ensure the size and type of the toy are appropriate for the child's age.

6 - Plan a daytime wedding ceremony

At some point, children will start to feel tired and get drowsy. Therefore, it's good to end your wedding before bedtime. However, keep in mind some kids are used to afternoon naps. In that case, speak with the venue staff and come up with an improvised nursery.

7 - Planning a kid-friendly wedding runs smoothly with the help of a wedding planner

Hiring a professional wedding planner is the best way to keep your kid-friendly wedding in check. All your worries regarding all aspects of wedding preparation will be gone for good. Moreover, you will feel much more relaxed when you have a professional to plan and coordinate your wedding day so everybody can have a great time.

A professional and experienced wedding planner is a person that makes the wedding run smoothly from beginning to end. For this reason alone, finding a trustworthy planner requires little research. A quick online search will show you some of the most sought-after wedding specialists. However, reviews and years of experience will tell you everything you need to know. So, sit with your partner, browse wedding professionals online, and pick a few of them. Give them a call, discuss all wedding-related matters, then decide with a partner to whom to entrust your wedding

Bonus tip - Store chairs, tables, and other wedding items in a safe storage space

Keep in mind that an average wedding includes plenty of items that need to wait in a safe place. Spare rooms, let alone basements are out of the question. Why? Because dust and dirt, and even insects can sneak into a designated space. Plus, cleaning it every day is time-consuming as is checking if all items are in one piece. A great solution for this is to rent on-site storage. It's an affordable solution that also keeps your items safe and sound from external influences. On-site storage is made of steel so that nothing can penetrate and damage your wedding items. Many reputable relocation companies offer this storage type at affordable prices and logistical help. That way, you can be sure the items will remain intact during the storage period until your wedding day.

Your wedding will run effortlessly if you start preparing on time

Make sure to start working on your wedding as soon as you pick the venue and official date. You and your future spouse will have a long wedding to-do list, from budget planning to booking a photo shoot. If you want a live band playing at your wedding, you have to act quickly. Most of them get hired long before the wedding season begins. In addition, you must plan activities for kids to keep them busy. However, if you already have a wedding professional planning a kid-friendly wedding from start to finish, there is nothing to worry about. All you have to do is keep track of each stage of your wedding preparations and wait patiently with your future spouse until your special day finally comes.
