Q. What’s the difference between your packages?
A. The short answer is: the amount of involvement we have in your wedding process. The Wedding Design package is the most involved, because as the name indicates, we design your wedding. We help you choose a color palette and an overall style, and then we help you secure a venue and the team of professionals to execute your day flawlessly. This requires many meetings, phone calls, and a lot of work behind-the-scenes.
Q. How far in advance should I book you?
A. For Wedding Design and Wedding Planning, at least one year in advance is preferable, but we can work with shorter timelines as well. We like to start working with you as soon as you’re engaged (for Design) or as soon as you have a date and venue secured (for Planning), regardless of how long we have to plan your big day.
For Wedding Coordination, most couples hire us between 6 and 12 months in advance. We can accommodate last-minute bookings (subject to availability), but we prefer to get working about two months prior to the wedding date.
Q. What’s your communication style?
A. Whatever works for you! With our Coordination clients, most of the work is done via email, with only one or two in-person meetings. Our Planning clients have monthly meetings with us, in addition to phone calls and emails. Our Design package includes as many in-person meetings as you feel are necessary to plan the design and details of your day, plus phone calls and emails in between.
Q. How long have you been a wedding planner?
A. About eight years. I officially launched my business in February 2015, but I had been helping friends and family plan their weddings for years before that. I also planned corporate events as part of my job before I went to law school.
Q. How many weddings have you planned?
A. Well, that changes all the time. As we head into 2023, I’ve completed my 70th wedding.
Q. Do you offer partial planning?
A. I do, but I don’t have a specific package for that. I prefer to customize it based on your particular needs. For example, if you don’t need help finding vendors but you do want help with hotel and transportation arrangements, we can create a custom pricing plan for you.
Q. Do you require a deposit to book?
A. Yes. If you book less than nine months before your wedding date, a 50% deposit is due with the contract. The remaining 50% is due one week before your wedding. If you book more than nine months in advance of your wedding date, a 25% deposit is due with the contract, with the remaining three payments scheduled evenly between booking and wedding date.
Q. Do you take credit cards?
A. I don’t, because there are so many fees and hoops to jump through, I’d have to raise my prices to justify it.
